StrainNavigator provides a comprehensive platform for cannabis cultivation enthusiasts, including:

• Strain Tracking & Database: Track and manage your cannabis strains with detailed records
• Breeding Management: Plan crosses, track lineages, and manage breeding projects
• Growing Tools: AI-powered grow assistance, environmental tracking, and harvest planning
• Community Features: Breeder exchange, genetics sharing, and community forums (coming soon)
• Premium Services: Advanced analytics, private data storage, and enhanced features

Services are provided on a freemium model with optional paid subscriptions for enhanced features and privacy.

3. Account Registration & Eligibility

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Be at least 18 years old (or 21 in jurisdictions where required)
• Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding cannabis
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Data Contribution & Service Tiers

Free Service with Data Sharing

By using our free tier with full features, you grant us:

• A perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your anonymized strain data, growing records, breeding information, and user-contributed content
• The right to aggregate this data into our strain database
• The ability to license this anonymized data to third parties for research, commercial, or educational purposes
• Permission to use your contributions to improve our AI models and recommendation systems

Key Points:

• All data is anonymized before being added to our database
• Personal information (name, email, location) is never included in shared data
• Once anonymized and added to the database, this data cannot be removed
• You can stop contributing new data by upgrading to a paid tier or switching to basic free tier

Premium Private Tier

Paid subscribers receive:

• Complete data privacy - your information is never used for database building
• Enhanced features and analytics
• Priority support and feature access
• Ability to delete all data upon account closure

Basic Free Tier

Limited features without data contribution requirements.

5. User Conduct & Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Use our services for any illegal purpose or to violate cannabis laws in your jurisdiction
• Share, sell, or distribute cannabis across state lines or to prohibited persons
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent strain information
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise our systems
• Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data without permission
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Violate intellectual property rights of others

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

Our Content

All content, features, functionality, software, design elements, and branding of StrainNavigator are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our platform
• Reproduce or redistribute our content without permission
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

Your Content

You retain ownership of strain names, breeding projects, and original content you create. However, by submitting content to our platform, you grant us:

• A license to display, store, and process your content to provide our services
• For free tier users: Rights to anonymize and use your data as described in Section 4
• For premium users: Limited license only for service provision, with full privacy protections

7. Legal Disclaimer & Cannabis Compliance

StrainNavigator:

• Does NOT sell, distribute, or facilitate the sale of cannabis products
• Provides information and tools for LEGAL cannabis cultivation only
• Does not encourage or assist with illegal activities
• Cannot provide legal advice regarding cannabis compliance
• Is not responsible for user violations of local, state, or federal laws

Users must:

• Verify that cannabis cultivation is legal in their jurisdiction
• Comply with plant count limits, licensing requirements, and other regulations
• Not use our platform to facilitate illegal activities
• Understand that federal prohibition may apply regardless of state laws

8. Breeder Exchange & Community Features

When using our breeder exchange and genetics sharing features (coming soon):

• All transactions and arrangements are directly between users
• StrainNavigator is NOT a party to any agreements between users
• We do not guarantee quality, legality, or viability of genetics shared
• Users must comply with all laws regarding seed/genetics transfer in their area
• We reserve the right to remove listings or ban users who violate terms

9. Third-Party Services & AI Tools

Our platform uses third-party services including:

• AI models (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Mistral) for grow assistance and analytics
• Authentication services (Supabase)
• Payment processors for subscriptions

These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service failures or data practices.

AI Disclaimer: AI-generated advice is for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee accuracy of AI recommendations. Use your own judgment for growing decisions.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Service Disclaimer

Our services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content or data
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Security of data transmission or storage

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StrainNavigator shall NOT be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, revenue, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use our services
• Legal consequences from cannabis-related activities
• Disputes between users on the platform
• Crop failures, poor yields, or growing problems

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StrainNavigator, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of our services
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any laws or regulations
• Your content or contributions to the platform
• Disputes with other users

12. Payment & Subscriptions

For premium services:

• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Fees are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
• No refunds for partial months or unused services
• We may change pricing with 30 days notice
• You can cancel anytime through account settings

13. Account Termination

By You

You may close your account at any time through account settings.

• Premium users: All personal data will be deleted upon request
• Free tier users: Personal data deleted, but anonymized contributions remain in database

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in illegal activities
• Abuse other users or our support team
• Attempt to hack or compromise our systems
• Fail to pay subscription fees

14. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
